Nine West Fall 2010 Collection was previewed this week with a collection of boots, flats and booties made for the fashion suave. With a generous dose of buckles, zippers and studs, this season’s offerings are stylish and funky. Booties are still a major item for Fall. Adorned with diamond-shaped studs in solids and outlines, these are simple but trendy. Flat boots are also a Fall must-have item. Nine West did not disappoint with tall versions and shorter ones that go as low as the ankle. In Nine West’s vintage collection, over-sized buckles gave a pair of booties a cowboy-ishly chic feel. Tall boots were in all their glory. With stalked heels that looked comfortable enough to walk 10 mile in, these were detailed with buckles. One pair that stretched up to the knees were laced up but in an elegant, non-industrial way. Another huge Fall item, flats, were a major part of the collection. For the vintage collection, they were decked out in studs and done in muted washes of beige, dusty pink and gray. Another pair was done in lace with embellished stones on the front. These are perfect for days when the first hints of Fall are in the air.

Nine West collaborated with New Balance for a collection of sneakers that were classic New Balance styles married to Nine West’s simplicity. One sneaker was offered in bright pink, blue and black with a dusting of glitter all over. Other simple styles were embellished with other such detailing.

Nine West will be bringing out some additional pieces for their jewelry line for the Fall that you will love. If your style is casual with a touch of cowgirl, try their suede and chain-linked necklaces. One of my favorites is a small clock as a pendant on a long necklace. With earth-inspired leather bands and turquoise earrings, these are sure to be a hit with the laid back girl looking to add subtle accessories to her wardrobe.

Nine West’s Fall Collection, as well as the latest installment of their vintage collection, will be in stores around June, in time for your Fall shopping.

So, your baby is beginning to walk and you want him/her to have shoes that are comfortable and will support each and every step they begin to take while learning.  Stride Rite the children’s footwear designer that has captivated the homes of many families for 85 years has developed a unique footwear that utilizes technology.

The SRT (Sensory Response Technology) was developed to promote a healthy lifelong walking pattern and improve the baby’s ability to respond to their environment.  The SRT has three features that will aide in perception of walking for your child.

  1. Greater feel of terrain: This allows a baby to stabilize their gait and better respond to their environment.
  2. More natural support: Unique “hourglass” construction and smooth, rounded transition from outsole to upper prevents catching an edge, reducing the number of stumbles and falls.
  3. Freedom of movement: An ultra-flexible design allows the foot to move in many directions to help the baby learn how to adapt to uneven surfaces.

The shoes come in baby sizes 3 to 8 in various widths, and fashionable features like suede fringe, metallic leathers and bright pops of color.  Another keen feature that parents should love is the removable insole containing a Fit Check system that easily let’s you know when it’s time to see a fit specialist for a new pair of shoes.   For $50 it’s worth taking a look at how technology can aide in the development of your child’s walk.

I’m talking every single detail. From shoe laces, to color to a personalized ID, there isn’t anything you don’t have control over.
