While many women focus on treating aging skin from the outside with topical solutions, many don’t think about feeding your skin from the inside-out to prevent the dreaded signs of aging. Paula Simpson – expert nutritionist – offered some of the best foods to beautify your skin from the inside-out and her tips on how to get the most from them.

Salmon: Loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, this cold water fish is high in protein and B-12 vitamin to nourish skin and keep it plump and youthful, helping to reduce wrinkles!

I’ve had dark circles under my eyes since 2005. I’m serious. Having children has certainly aged me physically and mentally. Wouldn’t change it for the world – but I wouldn’t mind getting rid of those puffy tired eyes.

Here’s a makeup trick from Prevention that is one to remember:

1. Choose the Right Hue: Pick a yellow-based formula that’s at least two shades lighter than your skin tone.

2. Apply It: Using a small-headed concealer brush, apply a dab along the lower lashes to the innermost corner of eyes and the hollows of the nose. You can also use your ring finger, which has a naturally light touch and added warmth to tap and gently blend.

3. Set: A dusting of a sheer, loose yellow-toned powder locks the concealer in place.

Vonetta Flowers, U.S. Olympic Bobsledder, knows that strength and endurance are crucial to her performance when she speeds down the tracks at the upcoming Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. So it’s no surprise that the gorgeous U.S. Olympian would have the same mind-set when it comes to her hair.

“I definitely have dry hair and as an athlete I am always running and sweating, so I try to use easy wash-and-go products,” says Flowers. “I love Pantene products, the strengthening formulas keep my hair from breaking.”

Cold, dry winters can leave hair brittle and begging for moisture. The Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Breakage Defense Shampoo & Conditioner combine conditioning ingredients such as silicones, fatty alcohols, and polymers that deposit on the cuticle of the hair while the pro-vitamin formula penetrates into the hair shaft. These product formulas work at the core to nourish dry hair of all hair types and strengthen hair against future damage, resulting in optimal hair health and strength.

For the ultimate promise of hair protection this winter, Pantene will actually switch you back to your old product if you aren’t satisfied, even if it’s a salon brand. For more details, visit Pantene.com.

Yesterday morning I woke up… not feeling my best. I had 7 or 8 events scheduled in the city and couldn’t bring myself to canceling them all. So I took some medicine and off I went. I already wrote about the Nutella breakfast, but that was just the beginning.

The good news is I met a lot of cool people and connected with several new PR agencies. The bad news is I was so foggy and cross-eyed that I’m not sure I made the best impression.

Midway through the day I had to call my husband and tell him to come and get me. I just couldn’t continue. I ended up missing a few functions, but it could not be avoided. In between every event, I would whip out my Robitussin and take 2 teaspoons. It was actually pretty funny – but that might have been because I was so delusional.

When I walked in the door, I plopped everything on the floor, took way too much medicine and passed out. Bill wrote to my writers on INO and told me to cover me today. I woke up around 9 and have been trying to get through emails ever since. I’m officially giving up. When you answer 50 another 1o come in. It never ends. So I have to stop trying.

Going to sleep the rest of the day away.

Missed meeting Jessica Simpson today. Gave it to my writer – so BUMMED. Also missing an interview with Jennie Garth tomorrow morning. I don’t think I will be 100% by then. Thankfully someone is covering it for me. Worst time to get sick ever! But I hear the head cold is making its way around – so it was probably unavoidable.

Have A Picky Eater? Try Nutella For Breakfast

Posted by Vera On March - 10 - 2010

nutella2

Yesterday I was invited to attend a blogger event with Nutella. Confession time: I’ve never tried the spread before because I thought having chocolate for breakfast was a bit indulgent. NEWS FLASH: there is no CHOCOLATE in Nutella! What? All these years I’ve been looking down on those families who enjoyed the tasty treat. For nothing.

That was the first eye opener of the day. Remember when I went to Costa Rica last year with my husband? We were staying in a hotel owned by a couple from Holland. When it was breakfast time, they placed Nutella and bread on the table and I didn’t give it a shot. After yesterday’s meeting, I regretted that decision. I could have been using this product for over a year if I just loosened up a bit. Lesson learned – let’s move on.

Do you have a child who gives you a hard time at breakfast? How about one who doesn’t want to eat whole grains? A tablespoon of Nutella will fix those issues right up.

I was insanely sick yesterday – will post more about that later

Nutella is a tasty unique spread made with quality ingredients, including roasted hazelnuts, skim milk and a hint of cocoa. That’s what makes it look like chocolate. Very deceptive. Made with more than 50 hazelnuts in every jar, Nutella hazelnut spread does not contain any artificial colors or preservatives.

Have a kid who is allergic to peanuts? No problem!! The spread does not contain peanuts or peanut ingredients, nor does the product come in contact with peanuts during manufacturing.

A jar will run you about $3.49. If you go to a LARGER retailer (like Target or Walmart) you might get it for less.

So what do you think? Will you give Nutella a shot? Are you already using the spread?
