Keep Your Child Active While Playing Dance Sensation

DANCE wii LINER

I just LOVE these games that force our children to stand up and move around. Kids will play video games – it’s inevitable. So why not make sure that they are forced to move around a bit in order to complete the activity.

Hair Change

Dance Sensation! lets every little girl live out their dancing fantasy on their living room stage.

Your child will create and customize their own dancer as they learn 4 different dance styles, or compete against a friend to see whose routine is better! Use a Wii Remote and Nunchuk to mimic the dance moves on screen and dazzle the crowd.

I was invited to attend Pepperidge Farm’s ‘Fishful Thinking‘ event this week with a handful of other NYC mommy bloggers. Everyone knows what a disaster I was a few days ago after chopping all my hair off and I was actually unable to make the event. Lucky for all of us, Pepperidge Farm sent me over the presentation to review.

So what is Fishful Thinking?

Basically it’s an online parenting resource that provides simple, everyday, fun strategies that parents can use to help raise children with a positive outlook on life and who can confidently handle the challenges that come their way. Click here to check it out.

The site offers articles, activities, quizzes, videos and sharing opportunities to help moms enrich the little moments of parenting every day. 60% of moms maintain that raising kids is harder today compared to when they were growing up. That’s why this website was put it place – to lighten our load.

The highest rated sources of worry for those moms were:

* Kids growing up too fast
* Too much social/peer pressure
* Concerns for children’s safety
* Too much exposure to disturbing world events, and
* Popular culture not being in line with their family values

Yeah, I’m pretty much in agreement with all of those.

As a brand trusted by moms for more than 40 years, Pepperidge Farm Goldfish knows how hard parenting can be and understands the pressures that go along with it. That’s why, since 2004, the brand has partnered with positive psychology expert and mother of four, Dr. Karen Reivich, to provide moms with valuable information and resources to support their tireless efforts to raise kids who are confident, resourceful and have a positive attitude.

Take a look and let me know what you think!

The Daring Book For Girls Video Game

Posted by Vera On March - 4 - 2010

DGFD 3D Wii.DS Pak

I LOVE this game! Do you have a daughter who is too young to play the Wii on her own? This typically means that you are helping her along with whatever she needs to do and you end up playing the majority of the game. Right? RIGHT? It can’t just be me.

Well, here’s the solution!!

The Daring Game For Girls game is made for both the Wii and the DS. In it, your child will:

  • raft down the Amazon
  • climb Mt. McKinley
  • go on an African Safari
  • explore a schoolyard, neighborhood, and campground
  • learn fascinating facts while playing sports and games
  • tend to a garden
  • craft items in your workshop
  • sell goods and lemonade at your corner stand
  • make new friends

All on her own. If they wanted to just walk around the neighborhood and spend some time in a playground, they can do that as well. There is no intense storyline to follow and that makes this game an absolute must have for me and my 4 year old daughter.

Don’t get me wrong, if you wanted to get involved in a storyline, there is absolutely one available to follow. The more the Daring Girl talks to friends and completes projects the further along she gets on her quest. To become a true Daring girl, your daughter will have to earn all 6 types of Daring Girl Badges like Girl Lore, Life Skills and World Knowledge. This makes it a win-win for young and old alike.

Match before the Match - action HR

On Sunday Grand Slam Champions Kim Clijsters and Svetlana Kuznetsova faced off at Madison Square Garden in a match of Jumbo-sized proportions! I was invited to watch the pair compete in a heated tennis match in Ubisoft’s, Racquet Sports game on Nintendo Wii which was broadcast on Madison Square Garden’s Gardenvision.

This was a special event in which fifty children from the Garden of Dreams Foundation were front and center to watch the “Match before the Match,” complete with a photo opp and meet and greet session with these two champions.

The match was streamed live on Fila’s Ustream channel and on www.fila.com.

Clijsters and Kuznetsova4

The stars began the match with a sense of humor and ended with Clijsters having the bragging rights as Racquet Sports for Wii Champion. Kim won the best two out of three games. Clijsters and Kuznetsova also debuted Fila’s new Spring 2010 Center Court Collection which they will wear in competition on Monday night at the BNP Paribas Showdown for the Billie Jean King Cup at Madison Square Garden.

Kim and Svetlana are the first Fila athletes to wear Center Court which has a white and ebony color palette highlighted by bright youthful accents. The Center Court Collection is available at specialty stores nationwide and on www.fila.com .

HINT Water just launched their new “Mom’s Against Sugar Water” campaign, urging both schools and parents to eliminate sugary beverages. By submitting a wall post on HINT’s Facebook Fan page by March 30th, moms will automatically be entered for the chance to win a year supply of HINT water and a donation of 100 cases to their child’s school.

HINT is an all-natural, 0 calorie, 0 sugar essence water with a “hint” of flavor created by husband and wife team Theo and Kara Goldin in 2005 when they couldn’t find any healthy beverage options for their four kids.
